WASHINGTON COUNTY - Highway 290 westbound was shut down for a time late Wednesday after a school bus and another vehicle collided. DPS troopers say it happened at the 5000 block of Highway 290 near Shady Acres Lane, at about 6:45pm.
They say no children were on board the bus during the crash- and that the driver of the other vehicle was trapped for a short time. Brenham dispatchers say that driver was pulled out of the vehicle and both patients were expected to survive. Crews were still working the scene as of about 7:45pm, but DPS says they hope to clear the accident as soon as possible.
The district of the school bus involved was not immediately available at the time of this article's publication.
