Police say a Dallas-area driver is in stable condition after another driver fired 15 rounds at his vehicle in a road rage incident, hitting him once in the head.
Mesquite police say they received a call early Monday morning from a driver who said he was following someone he thought was drunk. Sgt. Brian Parrish says the gunman stopped his vehicle on a frontage road off Interstate 635, exited his car and fired at the caller.
The victim was taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas in stable condition.
Parrish says the suspect called police and drove to the station to speak with officers. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
