Death Investigation Underway in Madisonville

Local police and the Texas Rangers are investigating the death of a man at a motel in Madisonville.

According to a sergeant with the Madisonville Police Department, at around 6pm on Saturday a man was found injured outside of his room at the Western Lodge at 2007 East Main Street.

CPR was performed on the man, and he was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Madisonville where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say they believe a fight was involved.

Police have not provided any details as to what type of injuries the man sustained, but they say they do have one person in custody in connection with the incident.

At this time the death has not been ruled a homicide.

No charges have been filed as of yet.
