Dia De Los Muertos is being celebrated all around the world, and that includes here in the Bryan College Station area.

The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is celebrating the Day of the Dead with a festive alter honoring lost loved ones.

"It is a unique tradition and I think it is important to understand the traditions of people in our community," said the executive director of the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, Dr. Deborah Cowman.

Earth, fire, wind and water are represented on the alter as an opportunity for people to welcome the spirits.

A Dia De Los Muertos celebration is being held this Saturday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Brazos Valley Bombers Ballpark. A local padre will be conducting mass in honor of lost loved ones.
