Future Brazos Valley doctors, nurses and pharmacists got a taste of what it would be like to respond to a mass casualty disaster Friday.

The Texas A&M Health Science Center hosted a training exercise today for students at A&M and Blinn. The scenario was a structural collapse and the Brazos County Expo served as a medical needs shelter to handle patients.

Organizers say training exercises like these give students invaluable experience. 170 students participated in the training exercise along with more than 300 volunteers and actors.
