Almost 20 firefighters worked for more than an hour overnight trying to get a driver out of his car after he hit a tree.
Investigators say just after midnight, a Mazda was southbound on the Interstate 45 feeder just south of Lake Woodlands.
As the vehicle passed under Lake Woodlands he hit the left curb and struck a pine tree in the between the freeway and feeder. Investigators say the car was wrapped around the tree.
The 24-year-old driver was trapped inside, and almost twenty firefighters worked for over an hour to free him.
The driver's name has not been released, but investigators say he was flown to Hermann Hospital in Houston by Life Flight in stable condition.
