Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office stopped an old tour bus for a traffic violation and ended up seizing more than $1 million worth of drugs.
Around 1 a.m. sheriff’s deputies say they stopped the bus on I-45. They spoke with 5 passengers on board, and that’s when deputies say they became suspicious.
A drug dog detected a spot inside the bus which deputies then searched. They found a total of 15 kilos of cocaine.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office the value on today’s seizure was between $1.2 million and $1.5 million dollars.
The five suspects are being detained for questioning.
This is the second large seizure in Montgomery County in 48-hours. Friday afternoon a narcotics investigation in East Montgomery County led to the seizure of 10 kilos of cocaine.
