An elderly man living in a RV near Lake Somerville was killed early Tuesday morning when a fire consumed the home.

Rocky Creek Fire Chief Tim Mantey says the firefighters were called to the scene at about 3:30am, when witnesses saw flames coming from the vehicle.

The Rocky Creek, Gay Hill and Prairie Hill Fire Departments all responded to the scene and spent over three hours trying to quell the blaze.

The name of the victim has not been released and the investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing
