TIMPSON, Texas - - A minor earthquake has occurred near the small East Texas town of Timpson.
The U.S. Geological Survey said on its website that the 2.8-magnitude earthquake struck Friday about 3 miles from Timpson, a town of about 1,000 people located about 70 miles southeast of Tyler.
The group's website said the earthquake occurred at 1:38 p.m.
No damage has been reported.
