An elderly man is recovering after being hit by an SUV in Bryan.
The accident happened around lunchtime Tuesday at Villa Maria Road and Texas Avenue.
Bryan Police say the 78-year-old man was trying to cross Villa Maria Road from the Walgreens parking lot when he walked out into traffic in the middle of the street.
Police say he was struck by a Chevy Suburban heading westbound at a low rate of speed.
He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan for minor injuries.
"[He] was trying to cross Villa Maria and instead of going down to the crosswalk he crossed at mid block in the 600 block of East Villa Maria," said Sgt. Benson Kilgore of the Bryan Police Department.
Bryan Police tell us the man had no visible injuries but was complaining of hip and leg pain.
We're told the Suburban wasn't damaged in the accident.
