Updated: Tue 9:52 AM, Dec 04, 2012

The family of a Spring man killed in an accident Friday morning in Madison County believes he fell asleep at the wheel.

59-year-old Jack Ernest LeCroy died after the commercial plumbing truck he was driving rear-ended an 18-wheeler that had stopped for construction work on Highway 21 just west of North Zulch.

LeCroy's sister Suzanne Lang tells News 3 her brother had been working long hours as a plumbing contractor for Delta Mechanical and hadn't had much sleep the night before.

His family believes he fell asleep at the wheel.

DPS investigators say the driver of the 18-wheeler that was rear-ended saw LeCroy looking down just before the accident.

No brake marks were found on scene and investigators believe LeCroy was distracted.

LeCroy was a founding member and played viola for the Kingwood Pops.

Visitation is set for Thursday from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Earthman Funeral Home located at 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024

Funeral arrangements are set for 10 A.M. Friday at Champion Forest Baptist Church located at 15555 Stuebner Airline Road
Houston, Texas 77069
