A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect until midnight for Lee County. Strong thunderstorms will continue to be possible, across the Brazos Valley, this evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity.Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
ROBERTSON COUNTY First responders are investigating a fatal accident that happened just outside of Bremond Wednesday morning on FM 2954 in Robertson County.
It happened just before 8:00 p.m.
First responders and law enforcement responded to the accident which was between a car and a tractor.
We're told by DPS that both vehicles were headed in the same direction on 2954 when they collided.
The driver of the vehicle, Jennifer Jo Nickels, 38, from Groesbeck, died at the scene. Department of Public Safety troopers tell News 3 that she was not wearing a seat belt.
The person driving the tractor was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan with unknown injuries.
DPS says the sun may have been a factor, causing poor visibility on the roadway.
