Fatal Crash Shuts Down Highway 21 in Madison County

DPS Trooper Jimmy Morgan says the pickup driver, Jordan Royer, 26, from Timpson, Texas was the one killed in the wreck.

**1:15pm Update****


SH 21/ US 190 is now back open in Madison.

Around 5am there was a head-on collision involving a pickup truck and 18-wheeler.

This lead to a fire at the crash and emergency personnel closed the US 190/SH 21 around 5am until 12:30pm today.

Roadway still closed as of 11:00AM.

DPS Trooper Jimmy Morgan says investigators are still on scene trying to identify the deceased.

TXDOT crews are also on scene...still cleaning up everything off of the roadway.

Morgan says he expects the roadway to be reopened sometime after the noon hour.

Highway 21 in Madison County between North Zulch and Madisonville is shut down due to a fatal accident.

Early Friday morning a pick up and 18 wheeler collided head on.

The driver of the pick up died on impact. The driver of the 18 wheeler was taken to St. Joseph in Bryan with minor injuries.

The Madison Co. Sheriff's Office tells us the road will remain closed for the next few hours.
