One person is dead following an accident in the Grimes County community of Carlos.
Two others were injured in the wreck, which happened late Tuesday morning at the intersection of Highway 30 and FM 244.
According to DPS, Howard Gerber, 65, and his wife Cheryll, 62, of Rosenberg were in a car heading north on 244. They had reportedly stopped at the Highway 30 intersection, then pulled out and were hit by a bread truck heading east.
Howard Gerber died at the scene. Cherryl and the bread truck driver, 57-year-old Benjamin Short of Bryan, were taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan for treatment. DPS did not have updates on their conditions.
Traffic was slowed or stopped in the aftermath as crews worked to clean up the scene.
