One man is lucky to be alive today after his car crashed and caught fire Thursday on Highway 190 East near Dodge.

Walker County emergency response workers were able to free the man and put out the fire. The man's only injury was a small cut on his cheek after the car propelled through trees and brush before it caught fire.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the man was having medical complications which led him to lose control of his Ford Taurus.
