Saturday, July 27, is the first day to file for a place on the November ballot for election to the College Station City Council.
The filing period runs July 27-Aug. 26.
Mayor and Place 2, both at-large positions, are up for full three-year terms in the Nov. 5 general election.
Candidate packets are available at the City Secretary’s Office located at College Station City Hall, 1101 Texas Avenue. An excellent online overview of council duties and responsibilities is linked at cstx.gov/elections.
To be a candidate, you must be a U.S. citizen, a qualified voter in Texas, at least 18 years old and have lived in College Station a minimum of one year prior to the election.

July 27 -- First day to file for place on ballot
Aug. 26 -- Last day to file for place on ballot AND last day to order General Election
Oct. 21 -- First day for early voting by personal appearance
Nov. 1 -- Last day for early voting by personal appearance
Nov. 5 -- Election Day, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
