COLLEGE STATION - Midnight Yell Practice on Friday will offer Aggies and others their first look inside the renovated and expanded Kyle Field, but first comes First Yell, which this year features Texas Dance Hall Legends Johnny Bush, Gary P. Nunn, Joe Ely and Aggies Roger Creager ‘93 and Max Stallings ’89 — complete with dancing on the Reed Arena floor, beginning at 8 p.m.

It’s all leading up to Texas A&M’s first home football game, with the Aggies taking on Lamar on Saturday (Sept. 6) at 6 p.m

The Association of Former Yell Leaders (AFYL) is sponsoring First Yell this year. The event originated 15 years ago to help create even more excitement for the upcoming football season.

Organizers say a dance floor will be set up on the Reed Arena floor for those who want to show off or practice their dancing skills. Floor Tickets are $112 and $86; Riser Tickets are $51; Mezzanine Tickets are $40 and Loge Tickets are $15

Midnight Yell Practice will follow immediately after the concert. Gerald Harris, Yell Leader adviser, says an exceptionally large crowd is expected because it will officially be the first time the newly renovated and expanded Kyle Field will be open.

“Entering Kyle Field will be in the same as in the past,” Harris adds. “People can enter from the Northeast and Southeast activation towers into the east decks.”

All profits from First Yell events go to support current Yell Leaders as well as various AFYL programs.

Tickets can be purchased online at then click on Reed Arena and when the flyer comes up, click on it and then follow the instructions or by calling 1-888-992-4443 or 979-845-2311.
