Former Brazos County Employee Convicted of Theft

Bryan A former Brazos County Clerk Deputy has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to stealing from the county clerk's office.

Jamie Hines was sentenced to five years probation Wednesday for theft by a public servant and paid $16,224 in restitution.

A criminal investigation found for three and a half years Hines was pocketing the cash couples would pay for marriage licenses.

Hines worked for the county for 12 years prior to her arrest.
