BRYAN - Saturday the KBTX family said good bye to one of it's own.

Former News Director Mike George was laid to rest Saturday afternoon. He died Sunday, May 18, at his home in College Station. Mike got his start in journalism here at KBTX, and it was the last job he had in the industry before he retired in 2013.

Friends and former co-workers from across the country joined his family at First Baptist Church in Bryan to pay their respects and share some of the great stories and memories they had of Mike.

Mike George was 51 years old.
