The Club area of Blue Bell Park at Olsen Field, formally the known as Dugout Club is one of the more elegant venues to have a fund raiser in Aggieland. I am lucky to have had the chance to go. I had the great honor of talking to some good men at Blue Bell Park this evening. Some of the people I talked to are leaders in the local community. Paul Kruse Ceo of Blue Bell hosted the event, Emil Ogden was the honoree of the Friends of Scouting Fundraiser. In talking to them I was reminded of what I gained most out of the scouts, a sense of honor, integrity, loyalty, and skill. I think Mr. Emil Ogden(Honoree) said it best when he spoke about the need for scouting now more than ever. Ogden by the way received the annual Patron of Scouting Award. This coincided with both Bryan and College Station proclaiming the day Emil Ogden Patron Scouting day
Talking to Dr. Bill Birdwell reinforced the sentiment about the need for scouting.
The friends of the scouts hoped to raise $15,000 and should as far as I could tell by the turnout in the room. The video attached to this story has an interview from an incredible conversation with Mr. Emil Ogden.
