NORMANGEE - A representative from a funeral home says Interim Normangee Police Chief Steve Milligan has died.

Milligan, who had been a Sergeant with the department, was named interim chief when his predecessor, Jody Navarro, was arrested for alleged ties to methamphetamine trafficking back in August.

There's no word yet on how Milligan died or if a replacement has been named.

Normangee City Hall and Normangee police have yet to release any official statement as of late Friday.

Memorial services are pending.
