Funeral services were held Saturday for a Texas A&M student who contracted bacterial meningitis and died last week.

Nicolis "Nico" Williams, a 20-year-old from Sugar Land, went to the hospital last Tuesday.

Williams was a junior at A&M, studying economics.

He was initially taken to the campus clinic with flu-like symptoms.

Later he was transported to College Station Medical Center where his condition quickly deteriorated, and he passed away three days later.
