BRYAN - With summer in full swing, law enforcement officers across Texas have been out in full force this weekend for Operation Dry Water.
The event is part of the boating while intoxicated (BWI) awareness and enforcement campaign.
Game wardens across the state are making contact with boaters to make sure they are in compliance with the law and staying safe while enjoying summer fun on the water.
"We're out there making sure people consume in moderation, they consume responsibly. And then most importantly is that they don't over-consume to where they become a danger not only to themselves, the occupants on their boat, buy everybody else on the water," said Game Warden Jake Cawthon.
In addition, game wardens want to remind boaters there should always be one life jacket per person on the boat.
