President and Mrs. George H. W. Bush welcomed former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney back to the George Bush Presidential Library Center Thursday, where they were joined for lunch by a mutual friend, Jose “Pepe” Fanjul.

President and Mrs. Bush were back on the Texas A&M University campus for an event hosted by the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation featuring author Michael Duffy. “Since his (President Bush) extended stay in the hospital, this is the second time in a week that they have visited the Library Center. It is great to have them here,” stated Frederick D. McClure, chief executive officer of the George Bush Foundation.

Mulroney served as Canada’s 18th prime minster from 1984 to 1993.
