BRYAN, TX -- The revolving door at Caldwell High School continues to turn. According to Whitney ISD Superintendent Gene Solis, the Wildcats are going to welcome back Kenneth Gilchrist as their next head football coach after the Whitney School Board votes on the matter to make it official February 11th.

Solis told KBTX Sports Friday afternoon that Gilchrist is the district's lone finalist. He coached the Wildcats for 3 seasons before coming to Caldwell last spring.

In his lone season coaching the Hornets they won one football game a dramatic last second 26-22 win over Taylor at Hornet Stadium in October.

The move not only means Caldwell will be looking for a new head football coach, but a quarterback too.

Gilchrist's son Brett was the Hornets sophomore quarterback and took most of the snaps last season.

Gilchrist's successor will be Caldwell's fourth head coach in as many seasons.
