Heart disease is the number one killer of women and Thursday men and women gathered to raise awareness and rally women to take charge of their heart health.
The annual Go Red for Women Luncheon was held at the College Station Hilton benefiting the American Heart Association.
Go Red is a way to celebrate the women in our community as well as join in the fight against heart disease.
Heart disease survivor Connie Wood, a former assistant principal at Pebble Creek Elementary, shared her personal battle. Olympian Breeja Larson, who's a Texas A&M swimmer, served as guest speaker.
Larson won an Olympic gold medal just three years after she started swimming and says she credits a lot of her success to living a heart healthy lifestyle.
