Governor Perry Asks Flags to be Lowered to Half Staff For Fallen Bryan Firefighters

Updated: Tue 9:05 AM, Feb 19, 2013

From banks, to fire stations, and even car dealerships, B/CS residents are remembering the lives of two Bryan firefighters who died in the line of duty this weekend.

Now flags are a new sign of support.

It's a very special President's Day as a community comes together to remember Bryan Firefighters Eric Wallace and Greg Pickard.

They died Friday after battling a blaze at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bryan.

Flags flying at half staff aren't just being seen at fire stations, but businesses and banks, at the request of Governor Rick Perry.

It's hard not to notice the change at Allen Honda, where Old Glory can be seen for miles.

"Definitely our hearts and prayers here definitely go out to the firefighters," said Jason Toal, an Allen Honda Sales Associate.

"The Bryan / College Station area, everybody here is a very tight knit group. I mean it, I mean we do have you know a lot of people live here and is a nice town to live in and everybody just comes together. And it's just sad to see what, what happened," said Toal.

A show of solidarity during the Bryan Fire Department's toughest time.
