Fire crews have managed to extinguish the fire. Bryan Fire investigators say it took 20 minutes to put it out. They say they don't know what started the fire, but say roadside fires usually start by drivers throwing out cigarette butts. Investigators advise motorists to be cautious as outside conditions continue to get dryer.
The Bryan Fire Department has shut down south bound lanes of traffic on SH 6 near Briarcrest for a grass fire.
