New information about a deadly wreck in Grimes County.
The Department of Public Safety says Aquiles Castro-Hernandez, 33 of Plantersville, was driving north on FM1774 at a high rate of speed while intoxicated. He lost control, ran off the road, over corrected and drove into southbound traffic. He hit another car head-on, two miles south of Plantersville. Castro-Hernandez was killed in the crash.
Kaitlynn Breiner, 20 of The Woodlands, was in the other vehicle. She was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with severe injuries. According to a friend, she had surgery Wednesday for broken legs, a fractured rib, a partially collapsed lung and fractured vertebrae.
Breiner is a junior, Civil Engineering major, at Texas A&M. Despite her injuries, she’s going to be ok. Breiner had surgery Wednesday and is already in a regular room.
