HOUSTON (AP) - Many Houstonians like Belinda Fernandez have fond childhood memories of watching baseball games at the city's iconic but now-shuttered Astrodome.
Fernandez was one of many people Monday who wrote down their Astrodome memories inside a truck dubbed the "Dome Mobile." The truck will be traveling around the city during the next couple of weeks to educate people about a Nov. 5 ballot measure on the landmark's future.
Voters will decide whether to approve a referendum authorizing up to $217 million in bonds to turn the stadium into a giant convention center and exhibition space.
Houston-area leaders say the Astrodome will more than likely be torn down if the ballot measure is rejected.
Fernandez and other Houstonians on Monday said they plan to vote in favor of the referendum.
