Guilty Pleas to Assault Charges Lands Bryan Man Prison Time

BRYAN - A Bryan man pleaded guilty to a pair of 2012 assault charges, one of a pre-teen, the other involving his mother.

Joshua Harris was arrested in September 2012 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon when he pulled a knife during an argument with his mother and her boyfriend.

Two months after he got out of jail, prosecutors say a 13-year-old came to authorities saying she'd been sexually assaulted twice by Harris in July of 2012.

The 21-year-old will have to serve half of that eight-year sentence before he's eligible for parole. He also received 180 days in the Brazos County jail on a charge of False Statement to Obtain Credit.
