A Brazos County gun store break-in may be connected to a gun theft ring that investigators busted up in the Houston area.

Three masked men carrying two-way radios were arrested during the latest gun store burglary in the Houston suburb of Spring.

In all, 274 guns have been stolen during eight gun store burglary break-ins across the region, including the Great Texas Gun Company burglary last month.

An ATF Agent told News 3 Friday night one gun has been recovered after it was used to commit a crime out of state and was taken from the Great Texas Gun Company on Highway 21.The nature of the crime and where it was committed isn't being released at this time.

The investigation continues into whether the three men arrested in Harris County were some of the same people who broke into the Brazos County business last month.

It was a bold break in.

"They made their own doorway," said William Farris, owner of The Great Texas Gun Company.

Early on December 17th five men were caught on camera breaking through the outside wall of his store on Highway 21 East of Bryan.

80 of Farris's guns were grabbed in less than two minutes.

"Any illegal firearm on the street is a dangerous firearm. Any firearm used improperly is dangerous but illegal ones on the streets are a great cause for concern," said Farris.

Some of that concern has slightly eased this week after investigators say three men, Guillermo Anderson, Christian Carbajal and Jesus Rendon were caught trying to break into a pawn shop in the Houston suburb of Spring on January 14.

In all eight separate gun thefts have been reported in Harris, Brazoria and Brazos County in the last six weeks.

"We have three folks in custody right now, but there are four others at large and all it takes it for them to regroup and go back to doing what they do best which is stealing," said Lt. Jeff Stauber of the Harris County Sheriff's Office at a press conference Thursday.

So far it's not known if the suspects in Houston were part of the same group that hit the Great Texas Gun Company.

"There are some similarities but right now we haven't been able to tie all these together to say for certain that they are related," said Brazos County Chief Deputy Mike Wilson.

"It's the craziest thing that's happened," William Farris recalled.

Farris hopes this latest break is a shot in the right direction.

"And I really hope that these are the guys that they are looking for and I understand there may be some others they're looking for and hopefully will catch them soon," he said.

The ATF is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for these burglaries.

And if you have any information on these gun burglaries you're asked to call Crimestoppers at (979) 775-TIPS.

Let's hope folks like Kenneth Connors, Gabriel Hall, Corey Stuart, and John Thuesen do not manage to get hold of some of these guns. We have had enough of College Station residents killing College Station residents.
