H-E-B Delivers Truckload of Corn Flakes Cereal to Brazos Valley Food Bank

Hungry families in the Brazos Valley are getting a supply of extra cereal for the holidays.

Monday morning H-E-B delivered a truckload of the grocery store's Corn Flakes cereal.

It's enough to feed more than 1,000 families.

The $16,500 worth of cereal can make 145,000 bowls of food.

This week H-E-B is delivering cereal to 16 Texas Food Banks.

This past year the Brazos Valley Food Bank fed more than 50,000 people.

"It's cereal which is in high demand by all food banks, and it's a large donation at a time when there's a lot of need, so it's a great thing. I think it will be annual. I know that we got something similar last year," said Theresa Mangapora, Executive Director of the Brazos Valley Food Bank.

The food bank at 1514 Shiloh Avenue in Bryan is still in need of certain foods including items like peanut butter, tuna, dried and canned fruit, rice, pasta and even toiletry items like paper towels.
