Hearne Councilmember Arrested Again

Hearne's mayor says his son will continue to be on the city council despite his arrest over the weekend.

Police arrested Hearne city councilman Mathew Gomez for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Gomez was arrested back in April for another alleged assault.

This is his second time in jail, but his father, Hearne Mayor Ruben Gomez, says he will continue to be part of the city council until he is found guilty or not guilty.

Mathew Gomez is out of jail on this latest charge on a $25,000 bond.
