Hearne Group's Petition for Councilmember to Resign or Face Recall Election

HEARNE - A group called The Hearne Citizens Oversight Committee has filed a petition with the city asking for councilmember Maxine Vaughn to resign or face a recall election.

The petition has gotten the needed number of signatures and the city is now working to verify those signatures. It was started after some Hearne residents say they lost confidence in Vaughn.

We tried to contact Vaughn, who has been a council member in Hearne since May of 2009, but couldn't reach her.
