Hinckley Named Interim Vice President for Marketing and Communications of TAMU

KBTX News has received a memo from R. Bowen Loftin, President of Texas A&M University, announcing Shane Hinckley as Interim Vice President for Marketing and Communications.

"I am pleased to announce that Shane Hinckley, assistant vice president for business development, has agreed to oversee the university’s overall strategic marketing, communications and business development efforts as interim vice president for marketing and communications.

He has done an outstanding job of helping expand the Texas A&M University brand nationally, and in particular, during our transition into the Southeastern Conference. I believe he is an excellent choice to lead our efforts to tell the Texas A&M story in this interim capacity. I expect a national search for a permanent replacement to take place over the coming weeks.

Mr. Hinckley earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Utah State University and came to Texas A&M after heading the licensing program at the University of Utah. He served on the board of directors for the International Collegiate Licensing Association from 2006 to 2012 and was president of the organization in 2010-2011. Since 2010, he also has overseen the licensing program for all Texas A&M University System universities and agencies across the state.
