College Station Hit and Run Suspect Identified

Update:

College Station Police say a suspect in the case of Monday's hit and run accident in College Station has been identified.

Charges in the case are pending, so the suspect's identity is not being released at this time.

On August 28, 2012 at about 2203 officers responded to a hit and run accident near the intersection of Texas Avenue and New Main. On arrival they located an individual that had been struck by a vehicle.

Investigation determined that this individual was riding his bicycle across the cross walk on New Main when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The victim in this case was transported to the hospital with incapacitating injuries.

The suspect vehicle left the scene without checking on the injured person or leaving any identifying information. Evidence gathered at the scene indicated that the suspect vehicle is a Ford SUV, possibly white in color. There will be damage to the front center of the vehicle.

This case is still under investigation. Anyone with any information regarding the accident is encouraged to call the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
