Thousands of people are expected to arrive from across the state to attend the memorial service for Lt. Pickard and Lt. Wallace on Wednesday.

Holli Conley with the Bryan-College Station Convention & Visitors Bureau is making sure hotels and restaurants are prepared for the visiting families.

"All of the Businesses have pulled together in this time of tragedy to help out the families," Conley said. "Our hotels have been a great support and have called us right away with discounts that they were willing to offer."

Conley said about 15 different hotels in the area are offering discounts for families attending the memorial service. Some people have even paid for the attendees hotel rooms while others have offered up their homes to strangers.

"We just love living in a community that can pull together in times like these, Conley said."

To find out which hotels are offering discounts, contact the Bryan-College Station Convention & Visitors Bureau.
