House Fire in Bryan Out, No Injuries

It was a hot evening for firefighters in Bryan after a town-home went up in flames in a neighborhood just south of Coulter Drive.

It took Bryan and College Station firefighters to put out the fire in the 800 block of Dogwood, which would have spread without the extra man power, the equipment, and a strong wall.

Making things difficult for firefighters, the town home was connected to neighboring residences. Firefighters had to access the scene from the alley.

Fire officials say flames started in the garage and quickly worked their way up to the second story. And then the attic.

The fire has left a young family homeless, but they say they are happy everyone walked away safe and without injury.

While Bryan Fire officials say the cause is still under investigation, the family told us the fire likely started from a grill they thought was out when they put it back in the garage after cooking.
