A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for most of the Brazos Valley until 12pm. A FLOOD ADVISORY is in effect for southeast Burleson, Washington, eastern Waller, west central Montgomery, and southeastern Grimes county until 7am, eastern Brazos, northern Grimes, northwestern Walker, and Madison counties until 8:15am, and Leon county until 8:30am. A line of thunderstorms -- containing gusty winds, heavy rain, thunder, & lightning -- is sliding east toward the Brazos Valley. 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall as this line continues to move east.
COLLEGE STATION A Houston man is facing charges after police say he used a knife during a fight with his girlfriend.
Garrett Phillip Grant, 26, was arrested Monday afternoon. According to the arrest report, police were called to an apartment at 2500 Central Park Lane for an assault. The victim claimed she was cut on her hand during a fight with Grant. Officers say that Grant told them he was fighting with his girlfriend over text messages on his phone when the two got into an fight.
Grant said that his girlfriend grabbed a knife and held it up to his chest. She told cops that she asked Grant to leave, but he refused. Grant allegedly shoved his girlfriend to the ground. She claimed he was on top of her, and managed to get the knife away from her, cutting her hand.
Officers arrested Grant and charged him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond is set at $8,000.
