Houston Man Arrested in College Station; Accused of Kidnapping and Strangulation

On Wednesday October 2, 2013 at approximately 1306 hrs, officers of the College Station Police Department were dispatched to a location in the 100 blk of Texas Avenue in regards to a report of a woman screaming for help at that location.

Upon arrival, officers were able to locate an 18 year old female who reported the following.

The victim said that she had been involved in a relationship with 20 year old male in the Houston area and that due to allegations of abuse she decided to leave him and that area. While staying with a friend in College Station, the suspect in this case was able to contact the victim through another person and arrange a meeting, at which time the suspect began to physically assault the victim by using his fists and a belt. During the course of the assault the suspect began to strangle the victim by placing his hands on her throat and squeezing.

The suspect then began to attempt to move the victim to a nearby vehicle with the stated purpose of taking her back to Houston. During this effort, the victim was struggling and was able to break free; resulting in witnesses observing what was going on and notifying police. The suspect then fled the scene before arrival of officers.

Detectives from the College Station Police Department were able to work with the victim of this offense and obtain a two-count warrant for the arrest of the known suspect. On October 15, 2013 at approximately 0141 hrs during a traffic stop in the 2200 blk of Longmire the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident on this warrant.
