Texas A&M Student Killed Sunday Night South of Navasota

NAVASOTA, GRIMES COUNTY A 20-year-old Texas A&M student from Houston was killed Sunday night after crashing into the back of an 18-wheeler at a high rate of speed.

It happened about a mile south of Navasota on Highway 6.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers say that Marcus Johnson changed lanes "for some unknown reason" and hit a trailer that was crossing over the highway.

Troopers say the tractor-trailer was crossing over when Johnson hit the tail end of the trailer going at least 98-miles-per-hour.

Johnson was declared dead at the scene.
