Updated: Sat 6:56 PM, Apr 28, 2012

It was a run for fun in Bryan Saturday morning.

More than 300 people were running in the fourth annual Joe Conway Memorial 5K run through Traditions Club.

The event raises money for SOS Ministries in Bryan and is in memory of Joe Conway, a longtime support of the organization.

SOS Ministries is celebrating 20 years next year.

"So it keeps getting bigger and bigger and people are hearing our message and our message is to rescue, restore and release our young people of our community that are living a troubled life," said J.J. Ramirez, SOS Ministries Founder.

"This was my husband's first love he was so concerned about the SOS Ministries," Mittie Conway, widow of Joe Conway.

This year's first place winner was 17-year-old A&M Consolidated High School Student Gustavo Roman.

He finished the 5K in 16 minutes, 51 seconds.

The second place winner was Jonathan Brower who finished in 18 minutes, 7 seconds.

Third place went to Alfonso Torres who ran in 19 minutes, 21 seconds.
