HUNTSVILLE, TX -- On Monday afternoon, the Huntsville Police Department responded to a disturbance call on Montgomery Road which resulted in the discovery of what appeared to be a small explosive device with a fuse.
Explosive experts from the Houston Police Department and an investigator with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms examined and disarmed the device.
According to HPD Chief Kevin Lunsford, the item was determined to be a homemade smoke bomb device, and officers have removed and secured it in a separate location.
