Huntsville Public Library to Hold Book Sale April 5-6

The Huntsville Public Library will hold a special one-time Book Sale in the Staggs Community Room on Friday, April 5 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 6 from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. Hundreds of books and other materials will be available for customers to purchase.

Adult hardback books will be sold for $1 each and children’s hardback books will be sold for 50 cents each. All paperback books will be sold for 25 cents each. Videos and audio books will both be sold for $1 each. Purchases may be made with cash or check. All proceeds from purchases directly benefit the library.

A wide variety of materials will be available for purchase, including books by popular authors like John Grisham, James Patterson, and Janet Evanovich, as well as informative and educational nonfiction books, current and classic movies, and some audio books. Some materials are in like new condition.

“We’ve had so many generous donations since the new building opened last February that we have enough to hold a large sale,” Kimberly Francisco, Assistant City Librarian, said. “We’re excited that the books and other materials we’ve had to keep in the back due to lack of space will now be available to purchase during this weekend.”

The library has an ongoing sale on a small set of shelves near the front desk, which will continue after the large sale on April 5-6. All materials donated to the library are first checked against the library’s collection development policy to see if they are suitable to add to the collection before being sold.
