The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

Officials responded to the scene after a 911 call on Wednesday.

Patrol Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Pioneer Trail. It was reported a male arrived at the location earlier in the day.

The husband and wife are separated and the husband does not live at the home. The pair began to fight outside the residence.

The wife called for assistance from a male roommate that also lives in the home. The roommate grabbed a shotgun and confronted the husband.

Authorities say the two fought, the husband reaching for a 2x4 when the roommate discharged the gun and shot the husband in the head.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the location and the male that was shot was transported to Memorial Hermann in Houston.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Units, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators, and representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

No charges have been filed at this time.
