COLLEGE STATION - Hundreds gathered for the inaugural Aggie Mile and 5k this morning on and around the Texas A&M campus.
The event kicked off with the 5k followed by the downhill mile-run designed for runners to set their personal best times.
Spectators and competitors were treated to a finish-line festival packed with food and lots of fun for the family.
"It helps when the weather's nice like this and it's also fun with a race like this you can get out, there's a lot of people running and you got friends that are running and you got people that are cheering and it's just a little added motivation I guess," said Charlie Rugh, who took second place in the men's 30-49 age category.
