A local child is now in Austin receiving treatment for serious injuries, and Bryan Police are investigating the circumstances behind it.
According to Brad Shumbera, his five-month-old boy, Lincoln, was in the care of Camelot Day Care on Boonville Road in Bryan. When Brad and his wife Kristen picked up Lincoln Tuesday evening, the child was "incoherent," according to Brad.
Lincoln was taken to the College Station Medical Center. Authorities say that happened around 6:15 p.m. According to Brad, Lincoln had numerous injuries, including to his head.
As of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the child was stable at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, according to Bryan Police.
BPD and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services are investigating.
