Hearne Police say Phillip Robinson turned himself in to the Robertson County Sheriff's Office Monday morning.

Robinson escaped from jail Saturday night around 11:20 p.m. According to Hearne Police Chief Thomas Williams, 18-year-old Robinson was arrested around 2 p.m. Saturday for criminal mischief. He complained of chest pain before his arrest and was subsequently taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan for evaluation.

Once released from the hospital, he was taken back to Hearne and booked into Jail. Later that night, just before 11:30, Robinson told a jailer he was coughing up blood. Chief Thomas says the jailer took him out of his holding cell and handcuffed him to a chair. During that time, Robinson managed to slip out of his handcuffs where he then ran out of the front door.
