Oilfield Equipment Falls Off Big Rig, Hits SUV, Kills Driver on Highway 21

NORTH ZULCH A strange accident on Highway 21 in Madison County Thursday night killed a North Zulch woman.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says it happened between Bryan and Madisonville, just east of North Zulch.

A DPS investigator says a piece of oilfield equipment fell off an 18-wheel truck going eastbound, and slammed into an SUV going westbound.

Investigators say 66-year-old Phyllis Robinson was killed in the SUV.

State Trooper Ross Bates told News 3 what happened.

"A piece of oilfield equipment broke off the straps of the truck, bounced on the road, hit the driver of the SUV, and she was killed as a result of that accident."

West and eastbound traffic on 21 was diverted for several hours.
